43 Primary schools in Paravur constituency are brought under this scheme. It is a joint venture project with the Indian Academy of Paediatrics. Doctors and super specialist would visit the schools and conduct health camps and classes for the children. Each child is given a health card. Those who need would be given free treatment with help of hospitals in the locality. It is the first time that such a scheme is being implemented in Kerala.
Satheesan also hopes to have a comprehensive health scheme for the entire constituency with the help of both government and private hospitals and medical colleges. The aim is to provide those in need with quality medical care which is cheap and easily available. Chronic patients would be given priority.
